Butterflys

The other day Bethany and Wesley and I went into DC to see the new butterfly display at the natural history museum. There were tons of live butterflys flying all around and they would land on you. It was a pretty cool display. Wesley loved looking at all the butterflys flying around and he even had a couple land on him!

Walk in the park

Today we went for a walk in the park near our house and Aunt Bethany came with us! Wesley loves to be outside and to have lots of things to look at. Even though he was pretty tired he was very content to be carried around and look at everything.

POOL TIME!

Today we went to the pool for the first time this year with Coral and PJ. Wesley LOVED it even though the temperature of the water was freezing. The baby pool was a little warmer and he enjoyed that one more. He was laughing really hard at Coral splashing water at him. When we went down to the big pool he tried really hard to like it but it was too cold! Later on Aunt Bethany joined us and she took him back into the baby pool. We had a great time and it was the perfect day out!

Missing Avery

I have thought from the very start that Avery and Wesley would have a big bond between eachother. This was proven the other day when David was looking through our pictures from Maine and Wesley was on his lap and he started whining and crying when David got to a picture of Avery. He kept reaching for the picture on the computer! So sad!!

I love the way a baby wakes up happy. I photographed it yesterday and I think its the cutest.

Kisses and hugs!

While we were in Maine Wesley learned the art of giving kisses and hugs.. while his technique is not perfect he gets into it! He usually uses your hair or ears for holding you there to slobber all over you.

Great Grandma!

Here is Wesley and Avery with thier Great Grandma. She got to meet both of them for the first time on the same day!

Babysitters!

Tonight I went out with one of my friends and left Wesley with my parents. I came back and asked what they did and how he was and the answer I kept getting was that he was very entertained and I needed to ask him what they did. I later found these images on my camera!

Cousins!

Wesley has been enjoying being spoiled by all of his grandparents and aunts and uncles. The other night they fed him a popsicle!

A new cousin!

Wesley and I made a trip to Maine to hopfully see the arrival of Wesleys new cousin. Here are a few of the shots of him hangin out with his aunt and cousin.


On May 4th (Hollys birthday)around 5:30 we got a phone call saying that she had been having contractions for about 2 hours and that they were pretty regular. She said that she was going to head to the hospital to get checked out and that we could head down that way. When we got there she was having contractions about every 3 min and they were wating for the doctor to get there to check her out. Wesley was very relaxing to her and he seemed to be into watching her.

He was very content to be held by Jean but wanted to be in the room. He was the calmest and quiet baby in the room but once they left he would start getting fussy and cry. It was almost his bed time when we got to the hospital so I figured that he would fall asleep shortly after we got there.

As the night progressed Wesley was clearly not even close to falling asleep and was right there to coach Holly through her labor. He was her focal point and when he was right there with her she handled the contrations much better and when they were over he would make her smile or give her a hug! He would also hold her hand or rub it during a contration.


At about 10:30 she was gettin close to the point of pushing but had just a bit farther to go first Wesley came back into the room after Holly had gotten checked and he sat down on the bed with her and started talking to her belly. Then he started rubbing her belly and kissing her belly. It was as if he was coaching his cousin out of it.

A little after 11 pm Holly started pushing and wesley was glued to her! He could not take his eyes off of her but his eye lids were so heavy. After about 30 min of pushing he finally gave in and could not stay awake any longer.

Once he fell asleep he was sound asleep and Jean was moving him around and picking at him and he was not even stirring. About 3 pushes before the baby was born Wesley sat right up and was wide awake to watch the birth of his cousin. Once the baby was born Wesley could not take his eyes off of him and wanted to be as close to him as possible.

Avery James born at 12:05 am (missed his moms birthday by 5 min) weighed 9 lbs and 21 3/4 inches long
