Dinner Conversation....

So tonight we were sitting at the table eating dinner and our friend Maritta was eating with us. Talk some how turned to Wesley's birth and the evening events of that. David looked at Wesley and said "The first thing I saw was your hair popping out!" Without missing a beat Wesley looked at him and said "NO WAY!" ~Mom

So sweet!

I just have to say it! My son can be so super sweet sometimes! After a cut on his eyelid and waking up with his eye all swollen he ended up snuggled with me in bad last night. He seriously was so cute all cuddled up and his little arm had to be wrapped around my neck squeezing me. Then we got up early for an ultrasound and he came with us and was very excited to see a picture of the baby. David and him were down by me feet and david was rubbing my toe. Wesley to not be outdone was rubbing my toes on my other foot! Then the technician was showing us the babies face and the baby had his hand up by his face and Wesley was imitating what the baby was doing. When the technician left he wanted to climb up on her stool and "push buttons to see baby". Then he woke up super happy from his nap and was all smiles and hugs for me! He also told me the other day that my shirt was pretty... where does he come up with these things??!?! I know I will have to come back and read this post at some point when he is having a not so cute day!

Pacifiers make the world go round

Last night I slept wrong on my shoulder and was in a lot of pain this morning. I was having a hard time moving it. We all were in the car driving David to the metro and it was really hurting me to drive and I was complaining. I kept saying "ouch" or something like that when I was turning a corner. Wesley finally piped up from the back seat and said "Mommy, where is your pacifier?" How silly of me! They make everything better!

Locked Out

So today while I was gone Maritta and David were here with Wesley. They were out in our backyard starting the grill up for dinner and they had the door open into the basement. Wesley was playing around and running in and out. He went inside and closed the screen door and then the glass sliding door and then LOCKED it! They both ran to the door and Wesley stood there laughing at them! He wouldnt let them back in and ran around in circles laughing. They had to go up to the front door and it happened to be unlocked.

Random things

So in an attempt to keep uo with this thing I am going to post a random blog about what we did this week. On Monday we had a fun day with Uncle Jake and hung out pretty much all day. Did some grilling out and Wes played a ton with Jake in his new tent. On Tue. we had a photo shoot with one of our friends to get some belly photos. Of course it sort of turned into a Wesley shoot which was fine with me. On Wed he had a play date with some friends while I had a doctors appointment. Then that night we all went to a DC United soccer game. Wesley can make friends with anyone and it was such an empty night that he charmed the security guards into letting him down into the FRONT ROW! He then charmed the guy next to him into giving him his cow bell! He has a blast and was glued to the game. He was quite into cheering and all the next day was running around yelling "DC United!" On Thur we hung around here and I was working. On Friday we finally rode the metro a few stops with David which Wesley has been asking to do for a long, long time. He really enjoyed it and was very excited about it. Once we got off we were walking back to the car and Wes asked to ride the bus.. LOL. On Sat we went apple picking in the afternoon. The trees were low enough that he could find some and pick them all by himself. There were also some that were too high for even David to reach so he would pick Wesley up and together they would get them from the top of the tree. It was a full week but a fun one!

Peyton comes to visit

This week we had my best friend growing up come to visit. We have known each other for 20 years and we share the same birthday! She brought her 8 week old daughter. Wesley just fell in love with her. The last few morning he has been going to check on her before he even comes to see us in our bedroom. He loved to hold and snuggle with her and overall was pretty gentle with her. He always wanted to know where she was and would get worried when he couldnt see her. Today they left and when we were almost home from the airport he said to me "Peyton bye bye I sad. Katie bye bye I sad!" What a little heartbreaker!

Dancer?

So when we were in Maine on vacation in July Sam was singing to Wes this song. I had not heard him sing it again until the other day we were in a store and it came on the radio and he started to sing and dance. He was more then happy to do it again for us!

Getting back into the swing of things...

I have been really bad about posting on this thing and had not been feeling too bad about it. I was not really sure how many people even read it. But then today I got an email from my sister telling me how she was having a bad day and she went back and read through this blog and how it made her day better. Then I was also reminded of something really cute Wes said about 2 weeks ago and wanted to make sure it was written down so we wouldnt ever forget. So here goes!

While we were in Maine on vacation Wesley had the opportunity to drive Grampys backhoe. He LOVED it and has been seeing them everywhere we go and has to shout out "BACKHOE". We were driving David to the metro so he could go to work and on the way back Wesley spotted two backhoes one big and one little. He started yelling from the back seat "Mommy two backhoes. A big, big backhoe and a baby one!"
